Mullackal Rajarajeswari temple, Alappuzha

The temple is located at the heart
of Alleppey town. The presiding deity is Goddess Rajarajeswari. The temple celebrates two festivals every year. The nine-day
'Navarathri' festival is specially important.The last two days are the most auspicious days. Colourful processions participated
by nine elephants are held in the evening. It is witnessed by thousands of devotees. Also several cultural programmes including
Ottanthullal are staged in the temple.
Another festival celebrated by the
temple is a one day 'Thaipooyakavadi' about fifteen kavadis take part in this spectacular procession which is presented during
the evening.

Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple, Haripad

This beautiful temple dedicated
to the King of Serpents is located near Haripad on the Alleppey-Quilon route on a panoramic site of thick green forest measuring
about 16 acres . It is a place of worship visited by large number of devotees from all over India.
A two day festival is celebrated
by the temple with much religious fervour.On the second day by noon, the 'Ezhunnallathu' (royal outing) ceremony is conducted
when the idol of 'Nagaraja' is carried by the priests and taken round the temple in a procession. A large crowd of devotees
with 'urili' (vessel) and colourful parasols participate in it. The entire jungle setting of the temple reverberates with
the full throated chantings in praise of the Serpent God.

Ambalappuzha is situated 14 km.
away from Alleppey. The Sreekrishna temple is one of the most important temples in Kerala. In its architectural features,
the temple conforms to the typical kerala style architecture. The main festival is celebrated during March/April. The temple
is famous throughout Kerala for 'Palpayasam' , a milk porridge of exceptional sweetness prepared in a very large quantity
and offered to the deity. Poet Kunjan Nambiar who lived in the 16th century staged his first 'Ottam Thullal', a solo dance,
in this temple auditorium.

Chettikulangara Bhagavathy Temple |
The deity in this temple is Bhadrakali and is supposed
to possess miraculous powers. The main festivity associated with the annual festival of the temple, 'Kettukazhcha' is very
famous and it is a procession of tall decorated structures in chariots in which effigies of horses, bullocks and epic heroes
like the Pandavas and various scenes from the Puranas are displayed. This festival is celebrated during February/March every

The Mahavishnu temple, the oldest
temple in Alappuzha is situated at the centre of a pond which has now been covered fully with sand. It is also the only major
temple in Alappuzha, located in the same compound with two flag masts and having two festival seasons. The festival season
of Mahavishnu temple is in January and that of the Devi temple in March.

St. Andrew's Forane Church at Arthunkal, one of the sacred churches in Kerala, attracts lakhs of devotees both Christians
and non-Christians every year from all parts of the State. The feast of St. Sebastian is celebrated on a grand scale for eleven
days in a year. January 20 is the final day of the feast. Arthunkal is 8 Km from Cherthala, 22 Km from Alappuzha and 48 Km

Fort Kochi The Roman Catholic Church situated close to St. Francis Church and is worth visiting. Some beautiful

St.Francis Assissi church popularly knows
as Naduvileppalli,the most beautiful and old church in Ernakulam city,the blend of Portuguese and Kerala style of architecture.The unique feature churche's roof is that
the entire hyper bolic para bloid shell roof rests only on the centre pillars on the either sides.It has completed 179th year
existence....Hundreds of people come here at odd times to sit in the quiteness of the church to commune with god.
CHINESE FISHING NETS
Fort Kochi- The Chinese Fishing nets that line the sea-front and exhibit a mechanical method
of catching fish by local fishermen in Fort Kochi. Said to have been brought from China by traders of Kubala Khan's Court,
they are used at high tide.

PALACE
Bolghatty
Palace is situated in Bolghatty Island a narrow palm-fringed Island easily accessible from the mainland. The Palace was built
by the Dutch in 1744. Later, it became the seat of the British Resident and today this has been converted into a hotel run
by the KTDC.
VALLARPADAM
CHURCH
The Basilica of Our Lady of Vallarpadam adds another landmark to its growing reputation with the completion of 20 stations
that will depict the 20 mysteries of the rosary. The 20 stations will features the mysteries that are celebrated by Catholics
all over the world. These include the Joyous Glorious, Sorrowful Mysteries and the Mysteries of Light that were added to the
original by Pope John Paul II. The Vallarpadam Church, which was already a national pilgrim centre, was raised to the status
of a Basilica on the basis of a request submitted by Archbishop Daniel Acharuparampil of Varappuzha in December 2003.The Vallarpadam
church was bestowed a special status by Pope Leo XIII in 1888. In 1951, it was declared a pilgrim centre.
HILL PALACE MUSEUM (Tripunithura-682301 Tel: 781113)
Hill Palace Museum is situated 12 km away from Eranakulam on the Eranakulam Chottanikkara route.Different types
of sculptures, collection of rare coins,old weapons, manuscripts in ancient scripts and collection from Kochi Royal Family
are exhibited here. Tourist may also visit the Deer Park situated there. Horse riding facility is also available. The Parishith
Thampuran Musueum situated at the Durbar Hall Ground together with its collection were transferred to Hill Palace Museum in
1997.
Timings: 9:00 hrs to 12:30 hrs and 14:00 hrs to 16:30 hrs. Closed on Mondays & National holidays. Admission
: Rs. 10/- per adult; Rs. 5/- per child. Camera Rs. 20/- Video Camera Rs. 1000/- for photography.
WILLINGDON ISLAND
 A man-made island created from the material dredged while
deeping Kochi Port. Situated between the main land Emakulam and the old town Mattancherry and separated by the backwaters. Willingdon Island is an important part of Kochi. The Govt. of India
Tourist Office, the Southern Naval Command Headquarters, the Seaport, Naval Airport, Railway terminus, Customs House, Kochi
Port Office etc are all located in this island.
